Warm and sunny day // Ciepły i słoneczny dzień

Coltsfoot // podbiał pospolity (tussilago farfara)

It's a great feeling when you can see how the nature is awakening after a long winter. Given the prolonged winter this spring is much more awaited and enjoyable than the previous one.
I'm so happy to see all these plants coming out and I can't wait to see more!

It's still snowing here so let's go back in time.../ U nas dalej śnieży więc cofnijmy się w czasie...

There has been no change in weather for 3 weeks. It's snowing almost every day, even though it isn't very cold only -3 lately, but the snow became so dull and boring so I'm just even more than fed up with it.

I was thinking about our garden at the time we bought our plot.
When we first saw it, it looked like an overgrown jungle with tall grasses reaching our armpits. We had to cut out some trees and shrubs and to scythe the grasses to make some place for us there. We decided that we cut only those trees and shrubs that are necessary. When we explored the whole plot it turned out that there grow trees, shrubs and plants that we'd never seen before, for example, a bird cherry, an alder buckthorn or dewberries :)

Take a look at the photos of our plot:

Memories: wild flora in the garden... / wspomnienia: dzikie rośliny w ogrodzie...

These wild plants and shrubs had been growing in our garden before we even bought it :)
They were there first so I'm not going to evict them :)
I will maybe replant some to a better spot.

----------------------------------------
Te dzikie rośliny i krzewy rosły w naszym ogrodzie zanim go kupiliśmy :)

Spring flower bulbs // cebule do nasadzeń wiosennych

A few days ago I ordered spring bulbs. Now it's the best time to buy them, because it's the time before the season and the bulbs are still cheap, in the middle of the season the bulbs are usually a bit more expensive.

It's been two years since I started cultivating my garden. Last season was the first when I could really enjoy the beauty of my first flower bulbs. Last season I bought some gladiolas and lilies; in autumn I bought tulips, daffodils, crocuses and more. My grandma gave me many old variety tulip bulbs, they remind me of my childhood. My grandma always had lots of red big flowering tulips, they smelled incredibly! I've never seen such tulip bulbs on the market. The tulips bulbs which are currently on the market have different shapes and colours, they look so fancy unlike grandma's tulips which were big, red and old-fashioned.

Now,  look what I ordered for the coming season :)

Memories of a 2012 Slavic Garden // Wspomienia ze Słowiańskiego Ogrodu w 2012 roku.

It's winter now, the 2nd of January.
Again, I have a feeling that a year has come full circle. Last September I looked at my garden thinking of the time passing and wondering of this year's garden. Now everything is repeating itself, I've looked at my garden and thought of this year's planting.

Take a look at our garden and harvests in 2012.

But first here's a colourful spring flower garden of my grandma Hanna, who unfortunately past away last September.

--------------------

In the Slavic garden // W słowiańskim ogrodzie

The Slavic garden is my favourite place on earth :) It's the place where I feel great, where I feel like me - and I don't have to worry about anything or think about problems. When I'm there I hear the birds singing above me and I admire the nature around me - and of course I tend our small veggie garden and think what to do for dinner :)

------------------

Kiedy tam jestem to słucham śpiewu ptaków i podziwiam otaczającą mnie naturę - i oczywiście uprawiam nasz mały ogródek warzywny no i kombinuję co by tu zrobić na obiad :)
