Frostbitten magnolia

This is my Alba Superba which was planted last year. For the first time (in my garden) it had 4 flowers. I couldn't wait to see them!
Unfortunately, all the flowers turned brown because the temperature was below 0 C.

Last weekend I bought Susan, it's a late variety so it should be less susceptible to frostbites. I hope so :)

And here is Betty in my mom's garden.

  1. What a shame about your magnolia flowers. Our magnolia flowers didn't last as long as they usually do this year not really sure why they seemed to open and fall within just over a week. I've always liked the purple flowering magnolias. When we bought ours it was supposed to be Susan but turned out not to be the case.
