Who doesn't like summer fruits?
They're a sign that the summer is finally here.
This year the first one to ripe are currants (well, strawberries were earlier in fact) :)

I rarely eat raw black currants because their taste is so.. peculiar, however I love them and eat them in jams, syrups, cakes etc.
-----------
I noticed that black currants are exceptionally big, sweet and tasty this year. I even enjoyed eating them! :)
----------
The amount of sour cherries is shocking. There are really about 50 cherries on the tree.
In April when fruit trees were flowering and bees were doing their job, a frost came and as a result many flowers froze and fell down.
What's more, there will be not even one apricot this summer :(
All flowers froze.
----------------
-----------
But there will be peaches and apples.
And hundreds of blackberries!
----------
I setki jeżyn!
And grapes.
We in fact don't eat them, because they're unpalatable, but at least birds make use of them in winter.
------------
No i winogrona.
Tomorrow I'm going to see my veggie garden, I think some courgettes are ready to harvest!
---------
I have never eaten the fresh cherry, peach, also black and red currants. We can not find them here. We only find the processed currant like as sweetened fruits, jam or syrup. Your fruits are so exotic for me. I have ever grown grapes but they couldn't stand longer. Our climate is not suitable for them all.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, happy gardening!
Lovely fruit and so much. My mother used to make currant jelly and it was so good. We canned all summer - jelly's, jams, tomatoes, peas, corn, green beans strawberry, and grape jams. Daddy had a fruit cellar and the potatoes, went in there and would last us all winter. So I also love fresh fruit - can you tell that I lived on a farm. Hows the baby? Bet he is growing up fast - send a picture, would love to see that sweet boy.

You have 50 more cherries than we have, The worst thing about currants is picking them!
ReplyDeleteYour vines full of fruit is so delightful, I love the blueberries, I think I will have some right now, unfortunately I don't have a vine, but I will be thinking of yours and how fresh they look...
ReplyDeleteMmmm, ale fajny sad :) Będą dżemy :) Pozdrowienia!
ReplyDeleteHello dear

I jeszcze porzeczki i winogrona... Mniam, mniam...
ReplyDeletePozdrawiam ciepło :-)
It is a good year for fruit here in the uk too! We have had a great combination of rain and warmth, which has made for a great crop. Your Dewberries look interesting - I don't know them at all !!
ReplyDeleteHi Dewberry,
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful berries! We can only find them in supermarkets and they are so expensive here!
