A little bit of spring in the house.

I love the smell of hyacinths! Their smell is so intensive that it wafts through the whole room!

The pink one bloomed before Christmas. Now blue and white are blooming:

  1. Hyacinths are great for cheering you up at this time of year. Your blue one is especially pretty. I have just one lilac/pale blue one this year, which has been keeping my windowsill happy for the last few weeks.

  3. Isn't it annoying though when you plant a mix of colours hoping for a show and the colours flowers at different times? Will you plant them in the garden when they finish flowering?

    1. Yes, I'll wait till they wilt and become dry and in autumn I plant them. I did that last year with 2 lilac bulbs and I'm going to find out this spring if they flower with no problems.

  6. Hyacinths are not a commonly seen plant here in the tropics. Occasionally they pop up in supermarkets around spring time, so I've had the pleasure of enjoying their perfume.

    1. I didn't know that. I naively thought that if the hyacinths can grow in Poland (where in my area we have the maximum temperature -30 in winter and +36 in summer), so they can grow anywhere.
Bernie you are a lucky gardener because you have tons of tropical flowers which we can only dream of :)
