Frostbitten magnolia

This is my Alba Superba which was planted last year. For the first time (in my garden) it had 4 flowers. I couldn't wait to see them!

Unfortunately, all the flowers turned brown because the temperature was below 0 C. 

Last weekend I bought Susan, it's a late variety so it should be less susceptible to frostbites. I hope so :)

And here is Betty in my mom's garden.

I never liked magnolias, I always considered them to look too artificial for a real tree. Recently, I've changed my mind, I think they're absolutely amazing!

Nigdy nie lubiłam magnolii, zawsze uważałam, ze wyglądają zbyt sztucznie jak na prawdziwe drzewo.  Niedawno całkowicie zmieniłam zdanie, uważam, że wyglądają niesamowicie!

"Betty" - this one grows in my mom's garden, and it's still small.

But these grow in my neighbour's garden, and they're much bigger!
