Big and small visitors to our house

Poland is covered in snow, I suppose that not only Poland...

Believe or not but there is a pond.

Everyday I watch the birds eating. Anytime I go for the camera they surprisingly disappear. Today I've hidden myself behind the curtain and managed to take some photos.

A very rare visitor to the feeder:
Hawfinch (coccothraustes coccothraustes; grubodziób)

 Two greenfinches (carduelis floris; dzwoniec)

A greenfinch and a hawfinch in the house on the right

And here's a real tiger :)

 She wants to come inside...

she's knocking to the balcony door :)

  1. Hi,

Such lovely winter photos. I personally have never experience winter, the closest being fall, at around 7 degrees (in Japan and Germany) during my working days. Nice bird house u have there. A tiger in the house, eh!

    1. Winter is nice but only on a photograph :) In a real life it is very tiring unfortunately. Everyday you have to clear snow from the pavements, it's uneasy job to do. But.. soon, it's only two months to spring!
You probably have real tigers in Malaysia! :)
      Greetings from snowy Poland!

    2. I've never associated winter as tiring before - never occurred to me of having to clear the pavements! Must be back-breaking. Yes, we do have tigers here, real ones! We here have to visit a snow-house to experience snow. Greetings too from sunny and sometimes rainy Malaysia!

  2. So did you let her in?

    I'm envious of your hawfinch.

    1. Of course I let her in! She's such a nice cat! :)
The hawfinch flies to eat sunflower seeds. I read on the Internet that because of its thick beak it can eat things which are hard to split. So I scattered some pumpkin seeds, I thought the hawfinch will like it, but no.. all what it eats from the feeder is sunflower seeds! All the birds in the feeder are crazy about sunflower seeds :)

    1. Ja na żywo zobaczyłam go pierwszy raz tej zimy :) Kotek na szczęscie woli się leniuchować w domu niż latać za ptaszkami.

  7. Lovely snowy pictures - we have snow here too - nice to see Hawfinch - they are not very common in the UK - I have never seen one in the garden - we mainly have gold and green finches which are very colourful.

    1. Greenfinches are also very common in Poland even in the suburbs where I live, but goldfinches are usually seen outside the cities, I've never seen any in my garden. Thanks for visiting!

  8. Cute little tiger! :) Even though the birds scatter when you come out, I know they are very happy that you keep them fed. The snow is beautiful.

  13. I guess it was your lucky day getting the bird photos. They are always flying away when ever I get too close to my feeders. Nice looking cat!

    1. Yes, a lucky day indeed :)They're very timid. Maybe if I had a better camera with a better zoom I could take good photos from a longer distance.
